Live Oak Bank commissioned Aite Group to survey financial advisors on their plans for transitioning their practices to a new generation of owners.The findings highlight a known problem in the industry. Advisors are not paying sufficient attention to their succession plans, to the detriment of their own financial security and, potentially, that of their clients. This study brings to light that one of the major stumbling blocks to a successful plan is the difficulty of obtaining the capital advisors need to fund the transition.
